I have a few questions about your “Chicken and Potato Rice” recipe on p.31 of the Instant Pot Recipe Booklet – 4th edition.
1. Under “Marinade Ingredients” the last item is 2c stock/water, however I suspect this is part of the main recipe, not the marinade (step 3 says add stock/water plus other ingredients – no amounts given).
Can you please confirm this?
2. The ingredients state:
1 star anise and 3 cloves
By 3 cloves do you mean star anise seeds or actual cloves like you would use for a ham? If actual cloves, then they should have been listed on a separate line from the anise. Can you please clarify?
3. Do you remove and discard the star anise and “cloves” after step 2, or do they get added to the Instant Pot in step 3 and discarded just before serving?
I am looking forward to trying this recipe once I have the answers I need.

Yes, they are two different ingredients, you need both.
