儿子给我上一课
One day, a man had argument with his manager. He went grocery shopping after work and got home late. Wife told him that their son’s school exercise book was missing and the spelling homework was due on Wed. Man put down his bowl and searched for ten minutes without success. The boy sat down to do homework. At grade one, he was not used to schoolwork and began to whine.
Man couldn’t control his frustration. He yelled at the boy, “From now on, no TV until you finish all the work!”, “Why do you write everything in capital? They should be in small cases!” Sensing dad’s anger, boy held back tears and finished his work.
In the middle of his boy’s piano practice, the man’s heart had softened. “Sorry for yelling at you”, he said, “Please remind me not to next time.”
“That’s ok. Next time you feel frustrated or sad, I’ll play a happy song for you.”
Man sat down on the bench, embracing the boy, and apologized.
“Dad, now I can’t remember where I played.” “Don’t worry about it. I just want to hold you.”
“Oh ya, the friendship is more important than piano playing.” Boy jumped down and disappeared around the corner, “Now you are happy, I have something to show you.” He came back with a booklet that he got from a previous church event. The booklet is called “The Greatest Promise”. Man and boy sat side by side, reading. “He sent His son Jesus to live with people and show God’s love. He always had time for children! Jesus promises to be your closest friend. Jesus promises to forgive you for all the wrong things you have done.”……
Man kissed boy goodbye at bed time. “I’ll pray for you.” he said. “Mama already did.” “I’ll do it in my room then.” He quietly thanked God for giving the boy to him and for better understanding of Matthew 18:3 “If you do not have a change of heart and become like little children, you will not go into the kingdom of heaven. ”
