Many Chinese appetizers are deep fried, and I don’t usually cook them at home since I don’t like the oil fumes generated during the cooking. Cook time: 5 minutes/batch (12 Wontons/Spring Rolls)
Level: Medium
Serves: 3 Wontons or 3 Spring Rolls/serving, about 96 in total

Ingredients:

1) 550g extra lean ground pork, 454g frozen white shrimp;
2) 4 green onions freshly chopped; 2 tsp freshly minced ginger; 1 tsp salt, ¼ tsp ground white pepper, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tbsp premium soy sauce, 1/6 tsp chicken broth mix , 1.5 tbsp sesame oil, 5 tbsp cold water;
3) 2 packages wonton wrappers (220g per package)
4) ¼ cup corn oil or other oil for pan fry.

Directions:

1: Filling: Place ground pork, freshly chopped green onion and freshly minced ginger in a mixing bowl (Picture 1). Remove shell of shrimp, devein and rinse under cold water and drain well. Cut shrimp into small pieces (Picture 2) and add them to the same bowl. Add all rest ingredients of Ingredient 2) (Picture 3) and stir with a pair of chopsticks in one direction for 3 minutes until the mixture becomes sticky (Picture 4), set aside.
2: Wonton: place 1 tsp of the filling at the center of a wonton wrapper (Picture 5). Moisten all four edges of the wrapper with water. Fold the wrapper diagonally (Picture 6) and press down to seal the edges. Overlap the tips, moisten with water and press together (Picture 7-8). Continue until half wrappers are used. You can freeze wontons and stored them in sealed containers in a freezer for later use.

3: Spring Rolls: place 1 tsp of the filling at the center of a wonton wrapper (Picture 5). Fold the bottom third up (Picture 9), moisten with water and then fold top third down, press to seal (Picture 10). Continue to finish all wrappers. You can freeze Spring rolls and stored them in sealed containers in a freezer for later use.
4: Plug in the Ropot cooker, place with the flat inner pot, add ¼ cup oil (Picture 11), cover with the lid then press Power button to preheat the cooker.
5: Arrange 12 spring rolls in the pot (Picture 12), close the lid, press Function to select Panfry function, when 3 seconds count down finishes, press – sign and decrease time to 3 minutes, program starts.

6: When the program ends, open the lid from side, turn over the spring rolls (Picture 13). Close the lid, press Function to select Panfry function, when 3 seconds count down finishes, press – sign and decrease time to 2 minutes, program starts.
7: When the program finishes, transfer spring rolls to a plate lined with paper towel to drain the excess oil before serving.
